HOME LEARNING WITH SEESAW
Dear Knotty Ash Families and Students,
The last couple of months have been challenging in many ways but I’m writing to let you know that there is a school positive to come out of it. School closure has given us an opportunity to consider how best to engage with children at home.
We’ve recognised that the Class Pages on the school website are getting rather full now and it’s difficult to differentiate work on them. So, we have decided to extend the learning platform, Seesaw, which we were already using within school so that children can use it at home.
Seesaw helps us work together to provide children with meaningful learning experiences at home. From next week, you will be able to access Seesaw at home (on laptop, tablet or phone).
We’ll use Seesaw to share learning activities and resources, capture your child’s learning, and communicate about children’s progress and needs.
Below are steps for setting up Seesaw at home and additional resources to help you support your child during this transition.
You will soon receive an invite from Seesaw asking you to connect to your child’s journal. You can click on this link or follow the instructions below.
You will be able to connect to your child’s journal on the web (app.seesaw.me) by clicking “I’m a family member”, or by downloading the Seesaw Family App, available on iOS and Android. This app connects to your child’s Seesaw journal in which you will be able participate in their learning, see their work and celebrate progress.
For your child to be able to participate in our online learning you will also need to access their class journal which is where the work they will complete will be held. You will be able to connect through the website (app.seesaw.me) by clicking on ‘, or by downloading the Seesaw Class App. Both apps are free of charge.
